Steak Prices Take Bigger Bite Out of Wallets

Restaurants are raising prices on steak as commodity prices continue to rise. The price increase is a result of lower supply of cattle due to higher feed costs, an increasing amount beef being exported to emerging economies such as China, and higher fuel prices. In addition, several years ago a lot of ranchers reduced their herds because of costs which has also impacted supply.
