Recall on Cross Valley Farms and Packer Label whole tomatoes

by | Jul 10, 2012

Combs Produce of Dallas Texas has issued a CLASS 1 recall on Cross Valley Farms and Packer Label whole tomatoes.

The product was distributed to 2 of our distribution centers in Texas between June 27th and July 7th, 2012. The recalled product may be identified by lot codes 53886701 & 53892701. The product is being recalled because the equipment (not the tomatoes) has tested positive for the presence of E coli.

E. coli O157:H7 is a potentially deadly bacterium that can cause bloody diarrhea, dehydration, and in the most severe cases, kidney failure. The very young, seniors and persons with weak immune systems are the most susceptible to foodborne illness.

US Foods’ number one priority is to notify any customer impacted by a recall. Our distribution centers affected by this recall have already begun to contact affected customers. If you purchased a recalled product from us, you will be contacted shortly, or have already been contacted.
